Cross-Application: Maximise Your Chances
MHADA allows applicants to apply for the next higher income category as well:
- EWS applicants can also apply for LIG
- LIG applicants can also apply for MIG
- MIG applicants can also apply for HIG
This means you can submit applications for up to two categories, significantly increasing your lottery selection chances.
How Income is Calculated for Married Applicants
If you are married, MHADA computes your eligibility based on the combined income of both spouses. Concealing your spouse's income can lead to application cancellation and forfeiture of your EMD deposit.
Income Proof Documents
- Income Tax Return (ITR) for FY 2024–25 — preferred
- Income Certificate from Tehsildar — for those who do not file ITR
Always cross-check the current year's income thresholds in the official MHADA notification before applying.
